February campaigns: what to read in a year of dragons

In February, Poet Laureate Chris Tse joined forces with The Coalition for Books and Kete to curate a reading list to celebrate Lunar New Year and Aotearoa’s East and South East Asian writers. Late last year, in time for Diwali, Saraid de Silva wrote an editorial piece for our campaign spotlighting Aotearoa’s South Asian writers.

The Coalition also worked with Allan Xia to create a striking illustrative element to accompany Chris’s Tse’s editorial how to be well read in a year of dragons and set up a campaign page listing information about the books. We created a special edition of the Kete newsletter and ran social media stories and boosted posts to highlight these books and their writers.

RNZ also republished the list to its audience on the RNZ website here.
